There’s this little boy who keeps on putting anything in his mouth. From sharpeners, pins, beads, pasta and any materials in our school that fits into his mouth. During lunchtime, I asked all the students to clean up and gather around me as I was going to have a story time with them. So, most of the children gathered and listened but there’s this little boy who kept on touching the materials and putting it into his mouth. I called his attention twice and on the third time I asked him to sit beside me, so I went to him and he threw his self on the floor and cried….he didn’t want me to carry him.
Before the class started, I talked to him and asked “What happen to your listening ears?” and the boy answered “My listening ears are broken and it can’t be fixed”
I did before, a number of times actually. Back at my home town, we had fish ponds close by that lets you fish and purchase the fish you caught. We also have the sea cost about thirty minutes drive from our house. Really not bad if you live in a big city.
Now, there really is not much places to fish. It’s a cold place and most of the water bodies we have are either rivers or man-made lakes. Well, river fishing can be really great although I have not tried that yet. Maybe once we get to have our own car, my wife and I can drive for camping. By then, I can get my own fishing rod and take some time to fish. That should be fun. Then, we can have whatever the catch is for dinner of camp fire. Before doing so, I think it’s good to stay up to date on fishing (like getting florida fishing news for example) to help you prepare and be up to the latest in fishing.
I was lazy but I force myself to bake, waaahh!
I had a pack of Oreos and I want to use it for my cupcakes. I put half of the oreos (with the cream on it) on each of the cupcake liners (bottom part). I wish I took a photo of the oreos in the liners.
So, here’s the recipe.
Cupcake:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 cup & 2 tbsp flour
1/4 cup & 2 tbsp cocoa powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 cup of canola oil (you can also use vegetable oil)
1/2 cup boiling water
Preheat the oven at 350c.
Mix all the dry ingredients. In another bowl, mix all the wet ingredients except for the boiling water. Then, pour the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and mix it with a mixer. Add the boiling water and mix it with spatula or wire whisk. Pour the batter on the cupcake liners and bake it for 18-22 minutes or until it is done.
I’ve been lazy using the oven.
Last week, I was on the mood to bake French Macarons. I got some ground almonds from an Italian store then I realized that I need o have a piping bag for the recipe to evenly make those round macarons….I might bake it next week.
Yesterday, bought some Oreo cookies from 7-11 cause I wanted to make oreo cupcakes but I was so busy with some paperworks….
Then, today I told myself to bake those oreo cupcakes since H is away for a choir practice….but I’m getting sleepy….
waaahh, to bake or not to bake???
Last weekend, my wife decided to do house clean-up. Well, it wasn’t a surprise really since I can see how the house needs some cleaning. I seldom clean the whole house when I’m here (since I work from home). Although I always keep the kitchen tidy and the trash clean.
I did the vacuum cleaning at the kitchen and living room while she did the laundry and washroom. I also fixed the living room stuff like the wire that hang around the television set. We might need to get a good cable cover too to make all this octopus wiring clean and tidy.
Overall, it was rewarding to see the house fixed again.
Another picture of our Nightmare Before christmas Cake for the Halloween Party.
A friend of ours got married a few months back and asked me if I can make a wedding video slideshow about the couple. I eagerly agreed and went on asking them for some of their pictures, from childhood to present.
It was really fun doing the project. I get to see how they both look when they were kids. I also get to remember how my wife and I have become part of the couple’s lives in one way or another.
The most interesting (and probably the best) part of the presentation was a video (which I covered myself) of the two meeting each other face to face for the first time. The guy wanted to surprise her during the meeting so he coordinated with me and my wife beforehand. It was both funny and nice, looking at the girl’s facial expression when she saw him.
Anyway, there were some challenges when doing the video. Like for example, getting a good video download site for the extra video effects. But overall, it was fun doing it.
Dont let your old bread gobto waste.
Do you ever get the feeling when you walk into a store and you have something purchased with you (like maybe a new shirt or cap). And then, suddenly, when you enter a store, you feel nervous that the metal detector might suddenly set off its alarm? Well, I do and frequently do feel such. What’s worse is when you pass by a metal detectors sale and suddenly you set the alarm off. Now that’s embarrassing.
There’s this one store close to the church we go to every Friday which has this huge, person-height metal detector that sets-off when a product or metal is sneaked out of the store without going through the cashier. Well, sometimes, it still sets off in error. That’s when I feel terrible about it.
